Our History
| Pritchard Joinery Limited was established by Dave Pritchard and registered as a company in 1961. Pritchards, as we are known today, began working from a small building in Hammond Street, Bulls and grew to approximately 5 staff working mainly in the area of timber joinery which included windows, doors, stairs & kitchens. In 1976 Pritchards moved to a new purpose built building in Watson Street, Bulls with staff numbers fluctuating around 8-10. Still producing mainly timber joinery, but also moving into the aluminium window & door business, taking on the "Vantage" brand. In 2002 Pritchards was sold to Dave's son & daughter-in-law, Darryl & Maree Pritchard. The business has refocused on mainly manufacturing Vantage windows & doors, Smartwood (composite timber/aluminium) windows & doors, Thermal Heart (thermally efficient and able to have a different colour inside than outside), and Metro (heavy duty range). We now supply all over New Zealand. We also specialize in Kitchen design & sales. Late in 2003 Pritchards Showroom was opened in Palmerston North, and is now located at 599 Tremaine Avenue. In 2009 a new showroom was opened at 130b Rimu Road Paraparaumu. These showrooms offer hands on visual displays of both windows and kitchens for clients & access to our range of products & design skills. In April 2007 the Kitchen department was totally separated from Pritchards to form a new identity "Pritchards Kitchens & Designs 2007 Ltd', run entirely from the Palmerston North Showroom and workshop. We welcomed two new share holders (Kath Flowerday and Peter Reid) to manage and deal with the day to day running of this business, along side Darryl and Maree. Pritchards now employs over 25 staff catering to all aluminium & kitchen requirements from design, pricing & manufacture to after sales service.
